Current Location

Look up there on the right, there’s a new bit of text below my picture! It’s called current location. It will tell you roughly where I am in the world!

Before you all start to get worried that this will be perfect material for stalkers, and as an apology to stalkers, the data isn’t 100% accurate.

The location data is taken from the GPS device on my blackberry and fed into blackberrytracker.com; a very cool site that can track blackberries!

This data, accurate to within a few feet is then passed onto GeoNames to convert the GPS coordinates into a Town/City/District!

The data also isn’t updated in real-time. In fact, it only updates every 15 mins! This means you can see where I was 15 minutes ago!

I thought this was rather cool. Facebook application anyone?
